How To Get Rid of Chronic Inflammation

Inflammation is what happens when your body is fighting disease, injury, infection, and toxins to heal itself. Interestingly enough, inflammation can also occur in response to lifestyle factors such as poor diet, smoking, stress, and alcohol. If inflammation becomes chronic, it can cause pain and damage cells, tissues, and organs. It can lead to digestive issues, joint and muscle pain, fatigue, brain fog, and skin issues. Six simple ways to prevent and reduce inflammation are:

  1. Eating a diet full of foods high in antioxidants and polyphenols such as olive oil, leafy greens, fatty fish such as salmon and sardines, nuts, and berries.

  2. Drinking more green tea! Green tea has strong anti-inflammatory properties. My favorite way to enjoy it is with a Matcha latte with oat milk and monk fruit sweetener.

  3. Exercising a little daily, whether walking, weight-lifting, or doing yoga.

  5. Supplementing with CBD.

  6. Supplementing with curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, which is a potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and suppresses cognitive deficits.
